Separate the export range from a deletion
The export start and end define the excerpt you want to keep. A deletion removes a selected span inside that material. To create a podcast clip, set the excerpt first, then remove any repeated phrase within it. Check the first word and final syllable so the export boundary does not cut them off.
Make several cuts with room to review
Select an unwanted range on the waveform, delete it and listen in Processed mode. Zoom in for precise boundaries. Use undo or restore to revisit a decision. Keep the original source; editing an already shortened MP3 cannot recover material removed from that export.
When a join sounds abrupt
Move the edge away from the middle of a word and listen to the surrounding sentence again. A very tight edit can remove a breath or collapse two ideas together. Restore a little space if the result sounds rushed. Automatic silence detection is a separate tool when you want help finding repeated quiet gaps.

Why is the trimmed file an MP3?
The current trimmer exports MP3. That means the selected section is re-encoded, and you can choose the MP3 bitrate before processing.
