What does the silence remover actually remove?
It removes sections that stay below your selected silence threshold for at least the minimum silence duration. You can keep padding on either side of every cut.
Can it mistake quiet speech for silence?
Yes. A high threshold can catch soft words, breathing, fades or room tone. Start gently, review the detected ranges and lower the threshold if the tool is selecting too much.
How do I keep natural pauses in a conversation?
Increase the minimum silence duration to ignore short pauses, then add padding so the remaining sentences are not joined too tightly.
What if no silence is found?
Try a higher threshold or a shorter minimum silence duration. If the gaps are intentional or the recording is consistently quiet, trimming one continuous section may be the better edit.
Will removing silence reduce audio quality?
AudioCut creates a new MP3, so the result is re-encoded. The original file is not changed, and the selected MP3 bitrate affects the new file's size and quality.
Can I remove silence from a video?
You can use a supported video's audio track as the source. The result is edited audio only; AudioCut does not keep or edit the video picture.
