Sharing and further editing need different choices
Check what the receiving app accepts before converting. MP3 can be convenient for listening and sharing; PCM WAV may fit a further editing step. AudioCut writes 16-bit WAV and FLAC. A larger output cannot restore detail lost in the source recording or an earlier compressed version.
Check container and codec together
M4A contains AAC audio in an MP4 audio container; the AAC output uses ADTS framing. OGG output contains Opus at 48 kHz, not Vorbis. Those distinctions matter when a destination accepts one combination but not another. Do not change an extension as a substitute for conversion.
Verify the actual output
Choose the applicable bitrate, sample rate and channels, then check the resulting file in the app where it will be used. Some browsers can encode an output they cannot preview directly. A completed file remains downloadable when preview is unavailable; check it in a compatible player. Preserve the original source and avoid unnecessary repeated lossy exports.

Which audio formats can I convert?
Choose MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG or Opus audio that your browser can decode. Output options are MP3, 16-bit PCM WAV, 16-bit FLAC, M4A with AAC, AAC in ADTS and OGG with Opus. Availability also depends on the browser and settings.
Will converting MP3 to WAV or FLAC improve sound quality?
No. It cannot restore detail lost during recording or compression. WAV or FLAC can still be useful when your next application requires that format. This tool writes WAV and FLAC at 16-bit precision.
What is the difference between M4A and AAC?
M4A is a container extension. Here it contains AAC audio. The separate AAC option writes an ADTS file. Choose the one your player or next application accepts.
Is OGG the same as Opus?
No. Ogg is a container and Opus is an audio codec. This tool writes Opus inside Ogg at 48 kHz. A player that supports only Ogg Vorbis may not play it.
Why is the converted file larger?
File size depends on the codec, duration, bitrate, sample rate and channels. Uncompressed WAV can be much larger than an MP3. A higher bitrate does not recreate detail missing from the source.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Audio is read and converted in this browser tab. The selected file and result are not uploaded or saved by AudioCut. Replacing the file, leaving the tool or closing the tab clears the working session.
Will album art, lyrics and tags be kept?
No. This converter creates a new audio file and does not copy cover images, lyrics or metadata tags. Keep the original if you need that information.
Why is a format unavailable or a conversion failing?
Browser encoding support, damaged files and available memory can affect conversion. Read the message, try 44.1 or 48 kHz, choose another output format or use a shorter file. AudioCut does not switch to a server upload.
Can I convert several files at once?
This tool handles one file at a time. After downloading the result, choose another file or change the output format to convert the same audio again.
Why is the output duration slightly different?
Compressed formats can add a small amount of encoder padding. The result shows the duration read from the generated file. The converter does not trim, speed up or change the volume of your audio.
