Extract audio from video

Convert MP4 to MP3 online.

Choose a video, select its audio track and bitrate, then make an audio-only MP3.

What it does

It extracts one decodable audio track and creates an MP3. The video picture is not included, and an unsupported codec stops the conversion.

Codec support still matters

MP4, MOV and WebM are containers. The browser must support the codec inside.

Questions people ask

MP4 to MP3 questions

Does MP4 to MP3 keep the video picture?

No. The converter extracts one audio track that the browser can decode and creates an MP3. The downloaded file does not contain video.

Can I convert MOV or WebM to MP3 too?

Yes, when the selected MOV or WebM file contains an audio track that your browser can decode. A file extension alone does not guarantee that its codec will work.

What happens when a video has more than one audio track?

AudioCut shows an audio-track selector, so you can choose which track to try before making the MP3. If the selected codec is unsupported, AudioCut shows an error instead of producing a result.

Will converting to MP3 lower audio quality?

MP3 is a lossy format and the result may be re-encoded. Choose a higher bitrate when you prefer a larger MP3 with more retained detail.

Why can't AudioCut convert my video?

The video may have no audio track, use an encrypted or unsupported codec, or need more device memory than the browser can provide. Try a different source file or a device that can play the video's audio.

Does converting video to MP3 upload the video?

No. The current converter reads the selected media in this browser and creates the MP3 locally.
