AudioCut processes supported media in the current browser session. Local processing does not mean the website makes no network requests: it still loads website resources and uses website analytics. Those requests are separate from submitting your recording for processing.
Selecting a file and uploading a file are different
The file picker lets the browser access the file you select. AudioCut then decodes and processes supported media locally. It does not send that recording to a media-processing server.
Only select media you have the right to use. If a recording contains sensitive information, consider the other software, browser extensions and device policies involved in your environment as well. A local editing workflow does not control every other program on your device.
What the website still requests
The browser downloads the site’s code, fonts and other static resources. Website measurement can record page visits and predefined tool actions. That is not the same as sending the audio, its filename or the selected cut ranges.
Read the privacy page for the actual services and data practices. The phrase “in your browser” describes the media-processing location; it is not a promise that the site is offline or that all possible network activity is absent.
What happens when you leave
Editing state and temporary media are held in the session rather than saved as a project on the website. Refreshing or closing the tab ends the workflow. Download what you need before leaving and keep the original source separately.
The browser manages its memory. Ending a session is not a claim that every byte is immediately physically overwritten. Downloaded files remain wherever your browser saves them until you manage those files yourself.
A practical check before working
Confirm you are on the intended site, use a browser that supports the file and select only the recording you need. After editing, verify the downloaded result, close the session when finished and follow your usual device and file-handling practices.
If a format cannot be processed locally, AudioCut reports the limitation; it does not silently change to a cloud-processing workflow. A future tool with a different processing location would need its own explanation before file selection.

The website does not save an editing project for you. Keep the source and any edit notes you need.
Are downloaded results deleted when I close the tab?
No. Files you downloaded are managed by your browser and device, separately from the temporary editing session.
