Why changing audio speed changes pitch—and what to listen for
A faster recording ends sooner and usually sounds higher. A slower recording lasts longer and usually sounds lower. That is the expected behavior of AudioCut's current speed mode.
AudioCut changes playback rate, so the pitch moves naturally with the speed. It offers 0.75×, 1×, 1.25× and 1.5×; pitch preservation is not part of this version.

Choose a speed you can still understand
These steps describe the current AudioCut workflow, including where a result needs your own review before download.

Start with a small change
Choose 1.25× when you want a shorter listen without a dramatic change, or 0.75× when you need more time to hear a passage.

Check the expected duration
AudioCut shows how the selected rate changes the length before processing. Faster rates produce a shorter MP3; slower rates make it longer.

Preview the voice or music
Pitch moves with speed in this version. Listen before download, especially when the recording includes music or a speaker whose tone matters.
Decision guide
Speed changes more than the clock
Use the playback-rate setting when the natural pitch shift is acceptable. AudioCut does not currently offer a separate pitch-preserving mode.

- The original file stays unchanged; the tool creates a separate MP3 result.
- AudioCut can use a supported video's audio track, but the result will not contain the picture.
- The selectable rates are fixed in the current version: 0.75×, 1×, 1.25× and 1.5×.

Can I speed up audio without changing pitch?
Not with the current AudioCut speed mode. Pitch changes naturally as the playback rate changes.
Why does faster audio have a shorter duration?
The same audio is played back in less time. AudioCut calculates and shows the expected duration for the selected speed.
Can I slow down a video with this tool?
You can adjust a supported video's audio track, then export MP3. AudioCut does not currently preserve or slow down the video picture.
