How to make audio louder without clipping it
Turning up gain can make a recording easier to hear. It can also push loud peaks past the available digital level and create distortion, which is why the preview matters.
Increase gain gradually, watch the predicted peak and reduce the setting if it goes above 0 dBFS. A lower gain is usually safer than a louder result that clips.

Choose a small gain change
The current control runs from -12 dB to +12 dB. Start with the smallest increase that might solve the problem instead of pushing the slider to the maximum.

Read the predicted peak
AudioCut estimates the resulting peak from the decoded track and your chosen gain. A result above 0 dBFS means clipping is likely.
