Can increasing volume make unclear audio clearer?
No. Gain makes the whole signal louder, including noise. It cannot restore detail that is missing from the source recording.
What is clipping?
Clipping happens when amplified peaks go beyond the available digital level and can become distorted. AudioCut shows a predicted peak before processing.
How do I avoid clipping when I make audio louder?
Watch the predicted peak. If it is above 0 dBFS, reduce the gain and create another preview before downloading the result.
Can I lower volume as well as raise it?
Yes. The current gain control runs from -12 dB to +12 dB, so it can make an audio track quieter or louder.
Is this the same as loudness normalization?
No. AudioCut applies the fixed gain you choose. It does not measure or target a broadcast or streaming loudness standard.
Can I adjust audio volume from a video?
You can use a supported video's audio track as the source. The result is an MP3 with the selected gain, not an edited video.
